for String Quintet (from The Wedding Suite)
(String Quartet plus Double Bass)
Performance Time 7:20
Level of Difficulty: Advanced
This glowing chamber work is designed to be played before
the start of a wedding, to create an atmosphere of love and
serenity for the waiting guests. Just before the ceremony
when all the preparations must be finalized is probably the
most stressful time for the wedding party, so enveloping the
area in a calm and radiant mood will really help ease
last-minute nerves and keep the waiting guests entertained.
This piece precedes Carol's award-winning
Fanfare for Joy / Wedding March
(pieces that begin the ceremony). This work is analyzed in
depth in Carol Worthey's Video Lecture, Turning Life into
Art:
How A Composer Works
.
Invocation, Blessing & Vows
was written for the wedding of fellow composer Sherry
Hackney and Alan Cade and was world-premiered aboard the
famous Queen Mary in Long Beach Harbor, California.
