Known for her lyricism, drama, passion and beauty, award-winning composer Carol Worthey began composing at age three and a half. Her powerful and deeply moving compositions have been performed on three continents, gracing top stages from Carnegie Hall to St. Martin-in-The-Fields. Among her mentors are Leonard Bernstein, Darius Milhaud and Vincent Persichetti. A champion of women's music, Carol has been honored with the Mu Phi Epsilon ACME Award.

Premiere Performance of 'Lament / Vocalise'

The March 10, 2010 Women’s Work presentation Faces of Eve showcases Mary Au Piano, Arietha Lockhart Soprano, Berkeley A. Price Clarinet, Hester Taylor Violin, and Jordan James Horn, in a recital that features works by contemporary and groundbreaking American women composers, Adrienne Albert, Lera Auerbach, Mary Lynn Place Badarak, Margaret Bonds, Mary M. Boyle, Lydia Busler-Blais, Chen Yi, Thea Musgrave, Deon Nielsen Price, Sharon J. Willis, Carol Worthey. All aspects of life, love, and longing will be explored. This recital is a celebration of the human condition as well as the leading women composers who, through their music, have exposed the very core of their hearts, minds and souls to the world.
