Featuring the New York State Premiere of “Romanza” for Solo Piano
by Carol Worthey

"Romanza is fresh, moving, emotional and a delight to work on and to perform. I love finding new dimensions to the work each day and look forward to sharing it with audiences."
– Beth Levin

In addition to Carol's work, Beth will be playing Mohammed Fairouz - Piano Sonata: "Reflections on Exile" and Ludwig Van Beethoven - The Diabelli Variations, Op. 120, 33 (Variations on a Waltz by Anton Diabelli)

Pianist Beth Levin studied at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia where at age 12, she was coached by Maryan Filar on Bach, Mozart, Schumann and Chopin and gave her "a sense of musical tradition that has never left me."

The same year she started lessons at Settlement, Ms. Levin performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra. She went on at age 17 to study with Rudolf Serkin at The Curtis Institute of Music; then Leonard Shure at Boston University and Dorothy Taubman in New York City. Today she is an acclaimed recitalist, concerto soloist, chamber musician and recording artist, having appeared with the Boston Pops, the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and numerous other orchestras throughout America. Levin's most recent recordings include Bach's Goldberg Variations, released on Centaur Records in 2008.

Ms. Levin will open her concert with Romanza by California composer Carol Worthey.
